WIZARD’S BOOKS
3D ISOMETRIC ILLUSTRATION
Using isometric techniques, a conceptual approach to visual storytelling was taken in order to create a poster that showcased an isometric scene with three distinct actions and sections associated with the narrative, using illustration to communicate the story.
The poster design showcased a visual story built around the communication goal of “experience the magic in books.” At its heart was a bookstore, designed using rectangles and structured with isometric scale and proportion, resting on a raised platform to create a sense of presence and wonder. The story unfolded across three distinct levels, each representing a different depth of engagement with reading. Level One represented mild engagement and featured individuals purchasing and enjoying coffee—both inside the store and on the adjacent patio—highlighting the social and leisurely aspects of book culture. Level Two reflected medium engagement, where visitors were seen reading and becoming more immersed in their books, suggesting a deeper connection with the material and the quiet joy of personal discovery. Level Three captured the essence of magic and deep immersion. Open books were scattered across the floor, symbolizing stories that acted as portals into fantastical worlds. These elements conveyed the transformative power of literature—the ability to transport readers beyond the confines of reality. The books on the shelves were rendered in a single bold color (red), guiding the eye toward the focal point of each scene: the portals represented by windows and the individual bookshelves. This monochromatic treatment enhanced contrast and emphasized the portals as a visual metaphor for books as gateways to the unknown.
